This fireplace fireback is cast iron with a black finish. A beautiful rendering of a classic design from Aetna Furnaces in Pennsylvania. The rooster was a popular design at the time which stood for victory. Designed to rest on the floor of the hearth to absorb heat from any gas, log, or wood burning fireplace and radiate it back into the room. Also works to protect the firebrick from heat and flames.
